Arca Images is proud to announce that our Founder and Executive & Artistic Director, Alexa Kuve, has been honored with the 2025 Carbonell Ruth Foreman Award, recognizing her outstanding contributions to the development of theater in South Florida.
This prestigious award not only celebrates Alexa’s career, but also shines a spotlight on Arca Images’ 25-year history as one of South Florida’s leading Hispanic theater companies.
The Carbonell Awards foster the growth of professional theater in South Florida, and by recognizing Alexa Kuve this year, they are also celebrating the importance of Spanish-language and Latino cultural achievements in our community.
“I am truly humbled and grateful to receive this award, but most of all, proud of what we have built with Arca Images over the decades, strengthening Latin theater and culture in Miami and beyond,” – Alexa Kuve.
The official Carbonell Awards Ceremony will take place on Monday, November 17 at 7:30 p.m. at the Florida Atlantic University Theatre in Boca Raton.

Kassandra is a unique fusion of classical Greek myth and contemporary reality that reimagines the legendary Greek prophetess Kassandra as a transgender immigrant struggling to survive on the margins of society. It will be directed by long-time Arca collaborator Carlos Celdrán, an acclaimed, Miami-based Cuban-Spanish director and playwright.
