Uncle Vanya

Uncle Vanya

Written by By Anton Chekhov
Directed by Nilo Cruz

The central theme is the deterioration of life, which can be seen through the eyes of the characters and their miseries. The author exposes with impeccable detail the feelings of dismay and tedium that all his characters encounter. It is these feelings of unease and disquiet that generate the conflict between the characters and shapes the drama.  And while the story seems sad, its relentless humor softens the ambush of its plot.

  • Texidós stage presence is nimble and energetic.
  • Larry Villanueva is a force to be reckoned with as Tío Vania
  • Trujillo is wonderful as Sonia
  • Kuve and Trujillo create a chemistry on stage that reflects an intricately woven alliance between two very different women.
  • Tío Vania … is an opportunity to witness some of Miamis finest actors in full possession of their talents.
